Yesterday I went to a friend’s wedding. The groom and the best man were wearing suits with… white canvas tennis shoes.
Oh, and the best man’s name? Christian.
To top it off, the officiator wore a white robe with symbols of every religion, including one that looked suspiciously like the Dharma logo.
So yeah, that was pretty awesome.

I’m so glad I’ve finally found a place to tell this story! When this happened, I had just finished watching LOST.
I teach elementary school. For our winter recital, we rented out a High School stage. I was backstage managing the kids before they went onstage, just trying to keep the chaos-factor low. They were being mellow so I picked up a theater textbook and opened to a random page. On it was a picture of a woman in a white dress on her knees, in distress. There was a caption that said something like, “An actress directly facing the audience during emotional moments is very common in Shakespearean acting.” The actress in the picture was a younger Elizabeth Mitchell, Juliet.

While in my philosophy class the other day, my teacher was asking about the philosopher John Locke. She asked what Locke would say about our current economic situation. I said “Why do you find it so hard to believe??” and someone else responded “Why do you find it so easy?!?” It was awesome.

I went to see Sarah Silverman perform standup recently. While I cheered for her entrance and exit, I think I cheered the most when she saw someone in the front row had a numbers shirt and told the crowd, “WE HAVE TO GO BACK.”
